This page explains how to delete your Ridoze account, what data is removed when you do, and what is kept. It describes exactly what the app and its backend actually do.

Option 1 — Delete your account from inside the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately. No email or approval is needed.

  1. Open the Ridoze app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap the Settings icon.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  5. Enter your password, so we know it is really you. If you signed in with Google, leave this field empty.
  6. Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
  7. Tap Delete.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. You will not be able to sign in with those credentials again.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it for you

If you can no longer sign in — for example you have lost access to your email or phone number — email us and we will delete the account for you:

Email: support@ridoze.com
Subject: Account deletion request

Please include the email address or phone number registered to the account, so we can identify it. We may ask one or two questions to confirm the account is yours before deleting it — this protects you from someone else deleting your account.

We respond to deletion requests within 30 days, and in most cases much sooner.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following personal data is erased from our database immediately and permanently:

DataWhat happens
NameErased and replaced with “Deleted user”
Email addressErased
Phone numberErased
PasswordErased
Profile photoErased
Bio and cityErased
Push notification tokenErased — no further notifications are sent

Your account is then closed. You cannot sign in with it again, and the email address and phone number are no longer associated with any account.

What is kept, and for how long

Some records created during group rides are not deleted, because they belong to other riders as much as to you. Once your account is deleted these records are no longer linked to your name, email address or phone number — they only reference an internal ID that can no longer identify you.

DataWhy it is keptRetention
Group chat messages you sent They are part of a shared conversation that other riders in the group can still read. Removing them would leave gaps in other people’s chat history. Kept, shown without your name
Ride history and recorded routes Group rides are shared records. Distance, duration and route belong to the ride as a whole, not to one rider. Kept, no longer linked to you
Shared group expenses Removing one participant would leave the group’s expense split unbalanced for everyone else. Kept, no longer linked to you
SOS and safety incident records Kept as a safety record of what happened during a ride. Kept, no longer linked to you
Closed account record An emptied record is retained so that ride and group data stays internally consistent. It contains no name, email, phone number, photo or password. Retained indefinitely in anonymised form
Account deletion cannot be undone. There is no recovery period and no way to restore a deleted account. If you sign up again later with the same email address, it will be a brand-new account with no ride history, groups, achievements or Premium status.

Premium subscriptions

Deleting your Ridoze account does not cancel a Premium subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Google Play and not by us. Cancel it separately, before deleting your account, at Google Play → Subscriptions. Any remaining paid period is not refunded by us; refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policy.

Data held by third parties

Deleting your account removes your data from Ridoze’s own systems. Data held by the services the app relies on is governed by their own policies — see the Privacy Policy for the full list, which includes Google (Maps, Firebase, Play Billing, AdMob) and ZegoCloud (voice calls).
