Ridoze — group ride coordination app

This policy explains what personal data the Ridoze mobile app (package com.ridoze.app) and its backend collect, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It is written to match what the app actually does.

This page covers data and privacy only. How the service may be used, what it does and does not guarantee, and the limits of our responsibility — including route accuracy and the limitations of the SOS feature — are set out in our Terms of Service.

Safety first: Ridoze is a coordination tool, not a safety system. Its SOS alert notifies only your group over the internet — it is not connected to police, ambulance or rescue services. In a real emergency always call your local emergency number first (in Pakistan: Rescue 1122 or Police 15). See the Terms of Service for full details.

In short: Ridoze exists to let a group of riders see each other on a map during a ride. That requires your location, and it is shared with the members of the groups you join — nobody else. We do not sell your data. You can delete your account, and everything tied to it, from inside the app at any time.

1. Who we are

Ridoze is operated by the developer of the Ridoze app ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact support@ridoze.com.

2. Data we collect

2.2 Information collected as you use the app

3. Location data — the detail

Location is the most sensitive data Ridoze handles, so we are specific:

When it is collected: only while you have an active ride running. Outside a ride, the app does not track you.
Background collection: the app requests background location permission so tracking continues when your screen is off or the app is minimised while riding. This is what keeps live tracking, the Lost Rider alert, and SOS location sharing working — a rider who pockets their phone mid-ride must not vanish from the group's map. Android shows a persistent notification while this is active.
Who can see it: only the members of the group whose ride you joined. Your location is not public and is not shown to other Ridoze users.
Turning it off: Settings → "Share Location" stops your position being broadcast to your group. You can also revoke the permission entirely in Android settings; location-dependent features will then stop working.
How long it is kept: detailed position points are automatically deleted 30 days after a ride ends. Ride summaries (distance, duration, route trace) remain in your ride history until you delete your account.

4. How we use your data

Operating the core product: groups, live tracking, chat, voice calls, routes
Safety features: SOS alerts, Lost Rider alerts, emergency contact

Enforcing plan limits and processing Premium subscriptions
Showing ads to riders on the free plan
Preventing abuse, and moderating reported groups or accounts

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your location for advertising.

5. Third parties

Ridoze uses these services. Each receives only what it needs:

These providers process data under their own privacy policies, including Google's Privacy Policy and Google's advertising disclosures.

Advertising choices

Free-plan riders see ads served by Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID. You can reset or delete that ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Premium subscribers see no ads at all.

6. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Release builds refuse unencrypted connections.
Chat messages are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes — never in readable form.
Access to production data is limited to the operator of the service.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical measures appropriate to the sensitivity of ride and location data.

7. Data retention

8. Your rights and choices

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and its data directly in the app:

Settings → Delete Account → confirm with your password and by typing DELETE.

This immediately deactivates the account and removes your name, email, phone number, profile photo, bio, city and push token. Ride and group records that other riders also participated in are retained in de-identified form so their own history stays intact. If you prefer, email support@ridoze.com and we will action the deletion for you.

Other rights

Access / export: request a copy of your data
Correction: edit your profile in the app at any time
Withdraw consent: turn off location sharing or notifications in Settings, or revoke permissions in Android

9. Children

Ridoze is intended for riders aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. International transfers

Our servers are hosted with a commercial hosting provider, and the third parties listed in §5 operate globally. Your data may therefore be processed outside your country, under the safeguards those providers maintain.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
